Job Description

Our client, a Major eCommerce company, is seeking a talented and passionate User Experience Designer to join their WebStore team. They are building a best-in-class product that enables retailers and manufacturers to easily sell their products through their own branded websites, over the phone, and/or in their retail stores — supported by robust ecommerce and merchandising technology. The ideal candidate knows how to leverage visitor data to guide design decisions and measure the effectiveness of their solutions. A strong dedication to advocating for users is essential — this role will shape the experience of thousands of retailers and manufacturers managing their multichannel ecommerce operations.

  • 6+ month contract (likely extension)
  • $45-50 per hour
  • Remote EST

Responsibilities:

  • Rapidly produce process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups to clearly communicate detailed interaction behaviors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business and feature requirements through data, usability research, market trends, and UCD best practices.
  • Evaluate and refine the performance of both new and existing features through usability testing and analytics (e.g., Omniture SiteCatalyst).
  • Present design concepts to the UX team, product stakeholders, and company leadership for feedback and iteration.
  • Contribute to UI design standards and best practices across the organization.
  • Provide thought leadership in ecommerce, web applications, and user interface innovation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of experience creating interaction design solutions for web or software applications.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Solid knowledge of web-based information architecture, design principles, and usability best practices.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design solutions and relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills with the ability to clearly explain interactive design concepts to various stakeholders.
  • A self-starter who is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team player.
  • Comfortable working with technical teams and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Prototyping skills in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, or Flash are a plus.

If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
