About The Company

The company is a Secaucus, NJ-based direct MCA funder specializing in fast, flexible financing for small businesses. They fund real deals, move quickly, and operate with a lean, high-performance underwriting team. Now they're adding a Senior Underwriter to scale their operations and lead deal evaluation as they grow.

Role Overview

As a Senior Underwriter, you'll own the underwriting process from merchant interviews to final funding decisions. You'll analyze complex deals, price offers, and manage risk. This is a leadership role for someone who knows MCA inside and out and wants significant earning potential in a direct funder environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Merchant Interviews : Speak directly with business owners to understand their operations, cash flow needs, and repayment ability.
• Analyze Complex Financials : Review bank statements, balance sheets, P&Ls, tax returns, and other financial data to assess risk and structure deals.
• Price Deals Confidently : Determine factor rates, holdback percentages, and deal terms based on risk assessment and market conditions.
• Make Funding Decisions : Approve, decline, or restructure deals with full autonomy and accountability.
• Finalize Deals Before Funding : Ensure all documentation, verifications, and conditions are met before capital is deployed.
• Manage High Volume : Handle 10-20+ deals daily in a fast-paced funding environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of MCA underwriting experience required (direct funder or syndication experience strongly preferred)
• Expert-level financial analysis : Can quickly assess risk from bank statements, credit reports, and business financials
• Pricing proficiency : Confident structuring deals with appropriate factor rates and terms
• Merchant interview skills : Able to ask the right questions and read between the lines
• Decision-making authority : Comfortable making independent funding decisions with real money on the line
• Risk management expertise : Know when to walk away from bad deals
• Local to Secaucus/North NJ/NYC area : In-office position

Compensation 

• Base salary: $100,000 - $300,000 depending on experience and deal volume
