Product Category Manager
Digital Storage is adding a Product Category Manager position to our team located just north of Columbus, in Lewis Center, Ohio. We are a wholesale distributor of removable storage media, fast moving consumer goods, consumer electronics, and accessories. Our team is dedicated to helping customers and supplier grow their businesses, by offering excellent customer service, product availability and industry knowledge. We provide real-time services and customized, value-added offerings.

The Product Category Manager's primary role is to be the brand champion for various products to increase sales and to maintain and grow vendor relationships. This position has a direct impact on sales results and positive brand perception.
Qualified candidates must have knowledge in supply-chain management and metrics and understand the commodity marketplace and competitive landscape in-order to make rational decisions. Must be able to work in real-time and communicate effectively across departments. Additionally, must be able to maximize their potential and coordinate with other departments covering Sales, Finance, and Logistics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Determine customers' needs and desires through external market research and communicating with our sales team. This may include assessing the market competition by comparing the company's products to competitors' products in regards to pricing and specifications.
· Vendor program management including but not limited to vendor, rebates, market development funds (MDF), price protection and volume incentive rebates (VIR's)
· Bring new products to market by analyzing new product opportunities; preparing return-on-investment analyses; developing time-integrated sales and marketing plans; establishing time schedules with suppliers on ordering and manufacturing; working with sales team on product launch activities and training.
· Work with sales team to develop short-term and long-term product sales forecasts to determine product procurement requirements.
· Set product pricing strategies to deliver necessary customer margin requirements while ensuring the range remains profitable and competitive.
· Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production/delivery schedules.
· Review sales history and inventory levels to determine any slow-moving stock needing price action.
· Manage aging inventory by working with vendors on the necessary support to facilitate healthy stock levels and velocity.
· Attend trade shows to develop relationships with vendors and to identify new opportunities.
· Provide reporting on regular basis to internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
· Ensure all product meets all required regulatory standards and meets internal and external compliance requirements.
· Grow brand market share by working with sales teams and vendors to develop product sales strategies and promotions.
· Coordinate ongoing vendor training to facilitate product knowledge within sales team.
· Manage brands to maximize brand revenue and profitability.
· Manage inbound logistics to calculate landed cost of product.
· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
· 3-5 years of experience.
· Experience in supply-chain or distribution preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
· Must have excellent computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
· Ability to review, analyze and summarize data.
TRAVEL:
· Limited travel may be required to customer events and tradeshows. Less than 25% annually.
