Plumber

Raymond Plumbing & Heating is currently searching for a Plumber to diagnose and repair residential and commercial plumbing systems including water, sewer, and gas lines, resolving issues like leaks, clogs, malfunctioning fixtures . We have been serving Lorain County since 1957 providing residential and commercial Plumbing and HVAC services.

The right candidate will have:

• Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; two or more years commercial and/or residential plumbing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills – Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with vendors, management, co-workers.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply general concepts such as percentages, addition, subtraction, division and multiplication to practical situations. Ability to read a tape measure.
• Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity, and word processing. FieldEdge experience preferred.
• Other Qualifications - Valid driver’s license is required. Ability to pass an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record Check) check in order to be insured on company vehicles and following company policy. Must be able to travel locally 70% - 90% of the time .

Responsibilities:

• Installs pipes into new construction projects
• Assembles pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic, solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment
• Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers or water heaters, or fixtures such as sinks or toilets, using hand or power tools
• Maintains records of work assignments
• Fills pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks
• Maintains or repairs plumbing by replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, or opening clogged drains
• Measures, cuts, threads, or bends pipe to required angle, using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, or pipe-bending machines
• Completes all required paperwork related to service calls including invoices and billing
• Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area
• Ensure company vehicles are cleaned and stocked with maintenance parts and supplies; restock supplies on a weekly basis according to the supply list
• Maintains tools and trucks and reports maintenance needs to management for approval
• Operates lifts, tow motors, and other equipment as necessary
• Notify the owner if any issues or concerns arise with a job
• Orders parts and supplies; obtains approval from the owner as needed
• Performs all other duties as assigned

His tradition has been handed down to a second generation of Raymond family members who continue to bring home comfort to your community. Their oldest son, Keith, returned to Lorain and rejoined the family business in 1979. After his father’s death in 1986, and along with his siblings Shelly & Brian, they continued to grow the business. They carried on the values that were instilled in them. In January 2023, Raymond Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning changed hands with new owner Mike Sherrill, a longtime work associate of Raymond’s. Mike has continued to carry on the company’s legacy of hard work and quality workmanship. We continue to provide residential and commercial HVAC service along with top plumbing services to the surrounding communities of Lorain, Sandusky, and Cleveland.
