CHRISTUS Children's, a world-class 240-bed freestanding children's hospital in San Antonio, serves as a focal point for pediatric services throughout the community. The Department of Pediatrics seeks an outstanding pediatric epileptologist physician to join our easy-going team at CHRISTUS Children's Hospital in San Antonio. The ideal candidate will be a team player, have excellent organizational and leadership qualities. Who will participate in educational & research programs and help represent the division in the community and nationally. Who has experience in epilepsy surgery or a willingness to learn. We have established a multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment program for children with epilepsy, multidisciplinary autism program, and international neuromuscular program. We are especially looking for special interests in growing our Epilepsy Programs, Neurocutaneous clinics, and more but open to any good candidate with any interest and good skills.
The division consists of seven board-certified pediatric neurologists (two of these Epileptology; three of these neurodevelopmental) and four full-time APPs who are primarily on inpatient service support. The division currently has active programs in epilepsy (6-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit), neurodevelopmental, ketogenic diet, neuromuscular disorders and a Pediatric Rehab/PM&R inpatient unit.
Primary responsibilities include outpatient clinics and shared inpatient rotations with call, trainee education and clinical research. The Voelcker Clinical Research Center provides support for faculty involved with research.
Qualified applicants must have an MD, DO or MD/PhD degree, be BE/BC in Pediatric Neurology and Neurophysiology or Epilepsy. Have or will obtain a Texas medical license. The rank and appointment will be determined by the candidate's credentials and experience.
