We're Hiring: Pathologist Assistant!

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented  Pathologists' Assistant  to join our dynamic pathology team in Towson, MD. This role involves supporting surgical and autopsy pathology services, working closely with pathologists, and ensuring accurate and timely specimen processing. The ideal candidate will be certified and experienced in a clinical setting, with a strong commitment to quality and patient care .

Location: Towson, MD
Role: Pathologist Assistant
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 AM to 7:30PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens according to established protocols
• Prepare tissue specimens for histological processing and provide accurate descriptions
• Assist pathologists with autopsies, including evisceration, dissection, and documentation
• Photograph specimens and autopsy findings as needed
• Ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens and maintain chain of custody
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all activities
• Support the implementation of quality control and assurance programs
• Train and supervise pathology support staff or students as needed
• Ensure compliance with all hospital, safety, and regulatory standards
  

What We're Looking For:

Education:  Master’s degree from an accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program (required)

Certification:  Board certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant (ASCP or equivalent) preferred

Experience:  Minimum of 1–2 years in a pathology or clinical laboratory setting preferred

Skills:

• Strong anatomical and medical terminology knowledge
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Proficient in laboratory information systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Job Requirements

• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
• Occasional exposure to biohazardous materials
• Availability for rotating or on-call shifts may be required
• Compliance with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures
• Must pass Background Check to include criminal, license verification and education
• Current Physical immunizations. Color Blind Test and FITT Testing , Current Flu vaccination
• Minimum One year of experience required
