Job Description

Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Oracle Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team and contribute to the development and maintenance of Direct Access infrastructure contract. As an Oracle PeopleSoft Database administrator, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing the PeopleSoft database required to support our enterprise-wide human resources system.

Travel up to 10%

You Will:

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software.
• Perform proactive performance monitoring, SQL tuning, and resource optimization.
• Ensure database availability, integrity, and reliability through automated monitoring and alerting.
• Develop and implement robust backup strategies.
• Enforce database security policies, including user access, encryption, and auditing.
• Troubleshoot database issues, including slow queries, locks, and replication lags.
• Create and maintain documentation for processes, architecture, and configurations.
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or similar tools.
• Support database migrations and upgrades across environments (on-premises/cloud).
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing exercises.

You Have:

• U.S. Citizenship
• A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or relevant experience.
• Security +CE Certification, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA with in-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture.
• Strong expertise in performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization.
• Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Familiarity with database automation and monitoring tools
• Experience working with cloud-based databases (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS RDS, etc.) is a plus.

Preferred:

• Experience with PeopleSoft applications a plus.
• Understanding Oracle automates tuning, backups, security, and scaling in the cloud.
• Cloud-native backup solutions, disaster recovery strategies, and high availability configurations.
• Automation and scripting skills.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
