For over 30 years, New Season Treatment Centers have been a leading national health care service provider of outpatient treatment centers that specialize in providing safe, quality and best in class care for individuals living with Opioid Use Disorder ("OUD").
Operating in over 70 treatment centers in multiple states, our team members are engaged in medication-assisted treatment, counseling, support, and care management of individuals living with OUD. We treat the whole person and, in so doing, address the underlying causes of OUD in an effort to provide a continuum of care that not only addresses treatment needs but supports the patient on their journey to recovery.
New Season Treatment Centers is hiring a Pysician Assistant that reports to the Program Director. This position is non-exempt and does not have any direct reports.
Job Summary: The Physician Assistant (PA) will assist in the provision of patient care including patient evaluations, and health screenings. Supports the Medical Director by performing intake, discharge and administrative procedures while communicating effectively with the nursing staff, counselors, and Program Director.
Essential Functions: - Physical examination of all patients upon admission, including, without limitation, annual physical examinations and health examinations, and review with patients of admissions-related laboratory results.
- All examinations shall be performed consistent with the applicable rules and regulations for medically-monitored treatment programs/facilities in the state in which the clinic operates.
- Issuance of patient medication changed orders and such verbal orders as may be issued; as applicable to state rules and regulations
- Completion of readmits physical examinations and annual physical examination of all patients.
- Availability to staff for emergency management of patient care
- Referral of patients to primary care providers for medical conditions other than narcotic addiction
- Clinical supervision of nursing staff regarding changes in medication dosage via verbal or written orders
- Attends treatment team meetings with counselors, assists in the development of patient care plans and is available, as needed, for patient consults.
- Examines patients, documents the medical history to patient records, and makes a diagnosis and decides on follow-up referrals.
- Orders diagnostic testing in accordance with Federal and State guidelines related OTP treatment ,such as blood work, and interprets test results.
- Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
- Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
- Provides general education regarding health matters related to their OTP care.
- Provides reports as requested

Essential Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Licensure/Certification: Has and maintains an active license as a Physician Assistant in the state where the clinic is located. Has and maintains an active DEA license with the ability to order schedule II narcotics. Must have an active Medicaid and Medicare credential.
Required Knowledge: Must meet any state requirements related to experience, Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of common business software such as Microsoft Office suite and/or, Google Suite.
Preferred Knowledge: 1 year of EMR experience
Experience Required: One year of experience working in an outpatient clinic or medical office. Experience working with Substance Abuse is preferred.
Skill and Ability: Must possess excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, be able to multitask, prioritize, and be dependable, reliable, and flexible. Able to work as part of a team and work independently without supervision.

Language Ability: Be able to communicate fluently in English, second language proficiency helpful.
Job or State Requirements PA OR PMHNP License in the State of FL, DEA with ability to prescribe 2, 2N, 3, 4, & 5 Narcotics
