JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer

LOCATION: Manassas, VA

PAY RATE: $55/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary:

• Create and maintain engineering masters and operations work orders via ERP system (SAP)

• Interface with internal and external design engineering teams

• Identify and prevent process bottlenecks; improve manufacturing engineering processes

• Follow company procedures and project execution processes, incorporating lean manufacturing principles

• Develop part inspection checklists, first article inspections, manufacturing planning documents, inspection sheets, and technical support for the production floor

• Prepare requests for change, purchase proposals, bid packages, basis of estimates, and quotes to support business proposals

• Interpret drawings and technical specifications for production and supplier/vendor support

Requirements:

• BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Electrical preferred) from an accredited university

• 2+ years of experience in aircraft mechanical/electrical systems manufacturing, assembly, or integration

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Experience with assembly sequencing and producibility using CAD software (SolidWorks or CATIA V5 preferred)

• Experience with ERP/MRP planning systems and bill of materials for process planning

• Knowledge of financial and scheduling metrics to support program execution

• Experience with fabrication of metals, especially aluminum

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Skills:

• Supporting fabrication of avionics harnessing

• Supporting airframe modification or aircraft assembly

• Strong written communication and data presentation skills

• Ability to develop production processes, standards, and quality control from design
