Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating saws with automatic feed table such as marvel saws, etc. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Essential Functions :

• Cutting metal bars, rods, rounds, structural shapes, etc., to specified length and miter using overhead circular milling saw, band saw or friction saws which are attached to saw table.
• Perform necessary measurements for project preparation by using a cutting list.
• Machine programming to perform cuts and fabrication. Starts machine, engages power feed or turns hand wheels to feed work into cutters. Stops machine and verify dimensions of work.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Must be capable of reading drawings and operating by use of cassette or programming directly, CNC controlled shear to length and punching machine. 
• Must be able to make any required set-ups and select proper punches and dies.
• Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and working areas in clean, neat, and orderly condition; must keep area clean of crops and be neatly stored for best selection and use.
• Must follow safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Basic knowledge of shop fabrication equipment.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents and be familiar with structural steel fabrication
•  Ability to properly use and read a tape measure
• Basic mathematical skills. (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.).
• Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including outdoors and at heights.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Must be able to stand; use hands to lift, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
• Have close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
• Will be required to transfer material using transfer tables and overhead cranes to designated areas.
