About the Role

One City Preparatory Academy seeks a passionate basketball coach to lead our scholar-athletes and develop our inaugural basketball program during the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate understands that coaching extends beyond the court—it's about molding young lives and building character alongside athletic skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Build relationships with, challenge, and motivate scholar-athletes
• Plan and lead coherent training sessions and program development
• Communicate regularly with families regarding scholar progress
• Manage program budget and maintain accurate records
• Facilitate skill development activities for younger ages to build program foundation
• Meet annual requirements of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or higher
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to certify)
• Strong commitment to One City's mission of serving all students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

• 2+ years coaching/playing experience
• Previous varsity coaching experience
• Experience working with high school-age students
• Experience with racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse youth
