Estimating Manager / Industrial Engineer – Aerospace & Defense

A precision-focused aerospace and defense manufacturer is seeking an Estimating Manager / Industrial Engineer to lead the quoting and estimating function for build-to-print machining projects. This is a highly strategic, onsite role that blends technical expertise with program oversight and customer engagement.
You’ll be the central point of contact for RFQs, working closely with engineering, operations, and executive leadership to ensure accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for key defense and commercial customers.

What You’ll Do:
🔹 Own and manage all incoming RFQs and estimating activity
🔹 Interpret blueprints and technical specs for build-to-print machining projects
🔹 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine quotes and ensure accuracy
🔹 Work with operations to confirm manufacturability and cost structures
🔹 Reprice programs as contracts evolve or renew
🔹 Support inside sales requests and project coordination
🔹 Maintain and manage sales and quoting pipeline (CRM not currently in place)
🔹 Interface with top 4–5 customers on quoting activity and project status
🔹 Provide costing input aligned with FAR and defense regulations
🔹 Help fine-tune and continuously improve the estimating process
What We’re Looking For:
✅ Experience in estimating, quoting, or pricing in a machining/manufacturing environment
✅ Strong understanding of build-to-print machining and defense industry requirements
✅ Background in defense costing, and contract repricing
✅ Proficiency with blueprint interpretation and Excel/data analysis
✅ Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

This is a highly visible, hands-on role based in Springboro, OH. You’ll work directly with leadership to drive smart, selective bids and support mission-critical programs in the aerospace and defense space.
