**CTG is seeking to fill a Data Engineer - Data Platforms opening for our client in Chicago, IL.** **Location:** Location **Duration:** 12 months **Duties:** + Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using big data technologies + Develop, test, and deploy data solutions in distributed processing environments + Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to understand data needs and deliver high-quality solutions + Optimize and monitor performance of data platforms and workflows + Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across data sources + Leverage platforms like Databricks and Hadoop to manage large-scale datasets + Document data processes, pipelines, and architecture for operational transparency **Skills:** + Proficiency in big data technologies including Spark, Hadoop, and Databricks + Strong programming skills in Scala and PySpark + Knowledge of data lake architectures, data wrangling, and distributed systems + Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Oozie) is a plus + Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is desirable + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills **Experience:** + 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-centric role + Demonstrated experience building and maintaining data pipelines in production environments + Hands-on experience with big data frameworks and tools (Spark, Hadoop, PySpark, Scala, Databricks) **Education:** + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
