Duties

Entry level duties involved in the collecting, documenting, and preserving of evidence at a crime scene; and related work as required.
Shift, weekend, and holiday work is required.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

High School graduation or G.E.D.
Valid Driver's License.
EITHER: One (1) year of experience as a Laboratory Technician I or Laboratory Technician II with the New Orleans Police Department in the Scientific Investigation Division. OR : One (1) year of full-time experience in crime scene investigation. OR : Sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited college or university with at least twelve (12) credit hours in Criminal Justice, Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science, or a closely related scientific field.
