Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Blood Bank (Night Shift)

Location: Patchogue, NY

Shift: Night | 5×8-hour shifts (4:00 PM – 12:30 AM)

Block Schedules: No

Pay Rate: $55–$60 per hour

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking C l inical Laboratory Scientist for an exciting Travel or Local job in Patchogue , NY.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and interpret Blood Bank testing, including ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening and identification, crossmatching, Coombs tests, antigen typing, and transfusion reaction workups.
• Conduct testing in additional areas: Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Immunology/Serology, and Urinalysis, following hospital and regulatory protocols.
• Utilize both automated and manual testing platforms such as Sysmex XM and CellaVision analyzers.
• Ensure proper specimen handling, including preparation, labeling, storage, and disposal in compliance with safety and MSDS standards.
• Maintain accurate quality control and assurance records; review and interpret QC data as part of daily practice.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver timely, accurate lab results in support of patient care.
• Follow infection control procedures, hazardous material protocols, and transmission-based precautions.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a clinical laboratory setting (hospital experience required).
• Licensure/Certification:
• • ASCP certification (required)
  • New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (required)

Technical Skills:

• Experience with EPIC EHR
• Proficient in Sunquest LIS and WellSky for Blood Bank operations

Preferred Experience:

• Background in a community hospital or Level II Trauma Center
• Familiarity with both automated instruments and manual testing procedures
