What We Do/Project

You are a highly skilled real-time engine expert, editor, and visual storyteller with deep expertise in Unreal Engine, Unity, and post-production editing. You excel in capturing cinematic and gameplay moments that bring video games to life, and in editing those moments into polished, engaging videos for marketing, trailers, and promotional content. With a keen eye for composition, lighting, pacing, and storytelling, you craft visually stunning footage and edits that align with brand and campaign strategies. As a Senior Video Game Capture Artist, you thrive in fast-paced environments, collaborating with creative teams to showcase games in the most immersive ways. This role reports to the Art Director in Global Publishing.

As a Senior Video Game Capture Artist (Unreal & Unity) within Warner Bros. Discovery s Gaming Division, you play a key role in both capturing and editing high-quality gameplay and cinematic content for trailers, social media, and marketing campaigns. You work closely with creative directors, motion artists, and marketing teams to ensure the best visual storytelling possible, leveraging in-engine tools for capture and editing software for polished delivery.

Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
Capture high-quality in-engine footage using Unreal Engine and Unity for marketing, trailers, and promotional materials.
Edit captured footage into engaging trailers, teasers, social assets, and sizzle reels with strong pacing and storytelling.
Create cinematic sequences and gameplay moments that highlight visuals, mechanics, and story elements.
Collaborate with creative teams to align both captured footage and final edits with campaign goals.
Use real-time tools to adjust lighting, cameras, and character placement for optimal shots.
Set up and control in-game scenarios to stage compelling, cinematic moments.
Maintain brand consistency across both raw and edited assets.
Stay up to date on the latest Unreal and Unity features, editing trends, and best practices to enhance both capture and post-production workflows.
Optimize workflows for efficient capture, edit, and delivery cycles.
Organize, archive, and manage captured and edited footage for easy future use.

Must Have Skills / Requirements
1) Unity and Unreal Engine Capture Experience
a. 5-7+ years of experience; Demo Reels or Portfolios required
2) Advanced Knowledge of Adobe Premier
a. 5-7+ years of experience; Extensive editing experience with Premier
3) Background in Cinematography or Photography
a. 3-5+ years of experience; Some experience photography and videos.

Nice to Have Skills / Preferred Requirements
1) Passion for Video Games

Soft Skills
1) Strong cinematography skills in composition, lighting, and camera movement.
2) Deep understanding of storytelling through editing, including pacing, shot selection, and music syncing.
3) Basic knowledge of color grading and post-production effects for polished final delivery.
4) Strong storytelling and creative vision to create compelling in-game footage and edits.
5) Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working closely with creative teams.
6) Ability to work under tight deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and manage multiple projects.
7) Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality assets.
8) Problem-solving mindset, especially when troubleshooting capture or editing issues.
9) Takes direction well but also contributes original ideas and creative solutions.
10) Cinematography or Photography background tends to do well in these roles.
